Therapeutic Nursery
Mount Carmel Guild Behavioral Healthcare

The Mount Carmel Guild Behavioral Healthcare Division's Therapeutic Nursery is a comprehensive treatment program that serves preschool-age children and their families. The Therapeutic Nursery provides an environment for individual and group treatment for children who display severe emotional, developmental and behavioral problems. This four-hour, therapeutic program (two morning and two afternoon sessions) engages a behavioral therapy model with emphasis on insight development through social and coping skills training. They are helped to find acceptable ways to express feelings, make choices, solve problems, respect themselves, others, and appropriate limits as they develop positive self-images and healthier relationships.

Examples of ancillary services provided to a child and parent are: Family Therapy, Parenting Skills Training, Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapy, Hearing Assessment, Patient and Family Advocacy, as well as transportation to and from the program.
